Portfolio
Scientific Posters
I like to emphasize visual elements of research while minimizing textual information for a bright and bold style that draws in visitors. I also offer consultation services for scientific poster design, for those who already have a completed poster that are looking to upgrade from the traditional three column format.

Technical Illustrations
Do you have a photograph of an instrument or process that you'd like to have illustrated? I can create technical illustrations from photos, videos or compilations of various images for a polished image that can be used to enhance presentations, posters, proposals, journal artcles, manuals, or protocols.

Scientific Figures
Many scientific figures utilize basic shapes to represent different proteins or biological subjects in flowcharts and pathways and papers with engaging figures are more likely to be cited. I like to create simplified illustrations to enhance these types of figures and incorporate bright colors for an eye catching figure that appropirately conveys the subject matter.

Cover Art
The beauty of protein structures is a huge inspiration for my work, and when possible, I love to incorporate structures or models into my cover art.

Science Communication
I am passionate about utilizing visual elements to communicate complex concepts to a general audience, as technical language can often be inaccessible to those without a scientific background.

I had the privilege of collaborating with a group of talented scientists to write and visualize a Molecule of the Month article for PDB-101. Click the image below to read the article and play around with the interactive feature!
Lab logos & Illustrations
My approach to logo creation is simpler, clean designs that translate well to posters, slide shows, and merchandise. I also offer more complex illustrations showcasing the different types of research within a lab - these work well for website landing pages or lab decor.

Science Art
Having trained as a structural biologist, I really love playing with the idea of protein secondary structure combined with text or photography. I've also had the opportunity to showcase some of my colleagues' scientific research, such as the UMBC Chemiistry department's illustration which was subsequently turned into a mug design.

I wrote an article detailing my biggest SciArt inspirations. Click the collage above to reac more about it!

Other graphic design work

As reflected with my sciart style, I really love textual silhouette style designs. Most of my work as been featured as promotional material for various events at my undergraduate university, including posters and T-shirts.

Traditional art
I love to experiment with a variety of media, including colored pencil, oil pastel, chalk pastel, gouache, and acrylic paint. I like to draw inspiration from the beauty of nature for my artwork.
